How This NFT Came to Be

This video NFT was created by Aaron Day.  On March 26, Aaron advertised a contest promoting a wall street bets type of movement aimed at using blockchain technology to disrupt every type of market on Earth.  The rules of this contest can be found here.

I submitted a series of tweets I had been running as a question that read “What are some potential uses for Ravencoin and Ravencoin tokenized assets – in less than 5 words?”

On April 4, Aaron announced I was the winner of one of two NFTs he had created.  The NFT I won is the NFT I am auctioning today.

The Message Behind this Video – Ravencoin’s History and Future

To fully appreciate this NFT, you must understand the amazing vision that was laid out by Patrick Byrne (Ex CEO of Overstock).  In 2019 Patrick gave a presentation on “A Blockchain Tech Stack for Civilization.”  In this presentation, Patrick shares that he came up with this vision 5 years earlier.  That means Patrick began developing this vision back in 2014!  In short, the blockchain tech stack for civilization focuses on areas that can be positively impacted by blockchain technology.   Patrick identified the following areas:

1. People (identity),
2. capital (rule of law = land titling),
3. currency (prices, central banking),
4. capital markets (human capital),
5. commerce (supply chain),
6. voting

At the core of the tech stack for civilization was/is Overstock’s subsidiary tZero.  And as we all know, Ravencoin’ has deep roots within the Overstock/tZero think tank.

This NFT also sends a message to Elon Musk, one of the biggest visionaries of our age.  The message is clear.  Elon, when you get to Mars you will need a blockchain tech stack for human civilization.  In other words, you’ll need Ravencoin!

Why I Am Selling

As you can see, this NFT is truly special because of the history behind it and for the vision it conveys.  This is Ravencoin’s history and future represented in one NFT.

As much as I value this NFT, I’ve come to the conclusion that NFTs serve a better purpose when they trade.  It’s been my pleasure to hold this NFT for a few months.  And now it is time for it to find a new home.  My hope is that this NFT will trade every so often until one day it becomes a priceless asset.
